    Diana, Goddess of the Wiccan

    Wednesday, March 5, 2008, 10:39 AM EST [General]

    Dark and Vindictive, yet gentle and true.
    Dear Goddess Diana, how we love you.
    Under the full moon, we do worship you.
    At the Esbat, we toast a prayer to you.

    Dear Triple Goddess, mother, maiden, crone.
    A dear at your side, a companion true.
    How graceful you sit upon your fine throne.
    A loving song is fore'er sung to you.

    Beautiful, slim and your fair hair drawn back.
    Warrior, mother, Goddess for so long.
    Fore'er her lasting love, keep us on track,
    And with this love we shall never do wrong.

    Goddess of the moon, fertility, and song,
    Never in our dear hearts shall you be gone.

    Blog Error

    Wednesday, March 5, 2008, 10:20 AM EST [General]

    MM everyone.

    My last blog doesn't seem to have downloaded onto my page.  I'm not entirely sure why that is.  If you want to read the poem that was supposed to be there, you can still find it on the covenspace homepage.  It's a poem dedicated to Isis.

    Isis, Egyptian Goddess of the Moon

    Wednesday, March 5, 2008, 10:15 AM EST [General]

    Isis, Egyptian Goddess of the Moon

    Oh, Isis, wondrous goddess of the moon
    Veiled mystery of life we all regard,
    Draw neigh, majestic flow, your holy rune.
    Our reach to higher spheres will not be barred.

    Ancient ruler, queen of heaven and of earth,
    Eternal powers, souls have often sought
    To suckle from your breast, first day of birth
    Harsh lessons from your laws of greatest worth.
    Your venerated essence, long, has brought
    Upon night winds, that haunting, captive tune
    Of life's sweet song, the music has been taught,
    Within your golden net, all souls are caught.
    Majestic, lovely lady with festoon ~
    Oh, Isis, wondrous goddess of the moon.

    Abundant love, protector of all life,
    Known healer and avenger of the dead,
    Release the bonds of tension and of strife,
    Cut loose all fear and dread with sharpened knife
    That all may walk the higher path, where led
    Though fraught with laden steps, a journey hard.
    While sun beats down hot flames of crimson red
    Your luminescence invites a welcome bed.
    While games of life may deal one lucky card
    Veiled mystery of life we all regard.

    Great lady of the heavens and netherworld,
    A deity into your arms, now, comes,
    Dear infant lies within your womb, tight-curled;
    Upon your new born crest a star is hurled.
    From smiling lips a lullaby, now, hums.
    Upon a sphere your lovely face will loom.
    Soft echo pulses like a distant drum.
    To heaven and all its glory, earth succumbs
    As mother moon feeds from her silvery spoon.
    Draw neigh majestic flow, your holy rune.

    Out from the earth into the heavens will ring
    In worship to creative powers, a song
    That fills the air with happy lingering.
    From pathway to the stars your child will bring
    New hope for peace and love, a bright new dawn.
    All truth and power from heaven will be jarred.
    To earth, your awesome beauty will belong.
    Your blessed light shall wash away all wrong.
    Reveal your glory, though the struggle's hard,
    Our reach to higher spheres will not be barred.

    About the altar we do dance;
    We praise The Gods
    We love and ever do, we give
    Our thanks to the sun.
    And moon above, We are The Craft;
    Love The Craft; We are Witches All.
    Join us.. In Our Circle For We Are Witches All.
    Walk into our Circle and feel the love Bound,
    And Meet The Lord and Lady who guide us in our Rounds;
    " An' Harm None, Do What Thou Wilt."
    It is The Wiccan Rede.
    We fear no foe for love we show,
    In thought and also Deed.
    Our words of thanks, our songs of praise,
    We offer them in pray'r.
    We sing their praise, we ask their help;
    We know that they are there.

    Prayer To Zeus

    Wednesday, March 5, 2008, 10:08 AM EST [General]

    Prayer To Zeus.

    Zeus, on Olympian hight,
    Shining in garments bright,
    Casting thy eyes around,
    Catching each note of sound,
                Zeus! hear my prayer!

    Not in an incense cloud,
    Not in words long and loud,
    No gold or silver by
    Shining to catch thine eye,
              Rises my prayer.

    Hopeful and strong for strife,
    Sing I my song of life,
    No cringing worshiper,
    Trembling, afraid to stir,
              Pray I to Thee.

    Pleasure of earthly power,
    Joys of the passing hour,
    Breadth and great depth of thought
    With the heart's life blood bought,
              All these I scorn.

    Zeus! For the beautiful
              Bend I my knee!
    Zeus! For the truly good
              Bow I to thee!

    Oh! let those two clear rays
    Shine on my youthful days,
    Shine like the sun's bright glow,
    Diminishing all lights below;
              Zeus is my prayer.
